About Me
Hello! My name is Amanda Faith Lackey. I am 19 years old and the third of four children. I live with my family in Cleveland, TN which is pretty much right in the southeastern corner of the state.
I was home schooled from kindergarten up until I graduated at 17 and I have never once regretted it. I have a wonderful father and loving mother and I am proud to say that they taught me everything I know.
My Interests: Hold on to your hats because this is going to be a long list!
-I love to read. I always have a book in my hands and I could read every minute of the day if my parents would let me. My Dad once said that I'm probably the only girl my age who will read a newspaper when she has nothing else to read. Besides reading my Bible every day I have book list on my computer which has all of the books that I want to read. As I read them I check them off and move on to the next. Of course, I can never seem to just read one book at a time. I usually have 3 or 4 going at one time. At this time I am reading:
Practicing His Presence by Brother Laurence and Frank Laubach
Beyond Stateliest Marble by Douglas Wilson
Before You Meet Prince Charming by Sarah Mally
Raising Maidens of Virtue by Stacy McDonald
-I also love to write. This is a passion that I have just recently begun to seriously pursue. In the past, most of what I have written has been in the form of journaling, something I still enjoy to do, but now I am beginning to take my writing to new levels (this blog being one of them).
-Music. Most people seem to identify me with some form of music. I'm either "that girl who plays the piano" or "that girls who sings". I love music. I began to play the piano at the age of 6 on a little 4 octave electric keyboard. Since then, I have upgraded to an oak upright with a full set of lovely keys. I began to teach piano lessons when I was 16 for a local music academy. It's a good income for a single girl living at home.
As far as listening to music, I love sacred classical, hymn arrangements, opera, concert band music, and the Big Band music from the 30's and 40's.
-I wouldn't say that I love to cook, but I do enjoy it. I'm more of a baking person, you know, cookies, cakes, pies, all that fattening stuff.
-I do love to sew. The first thing I ever made entirely by myself was a blue blouse when I was 12 or 13. Ever since then I've been hooked. I am currently sewing costumes for the opera company at the local university. I'll be posting pictures of them along with the Christmas presents I need to get started on...
More about me:
-I was saved at the age of 4.
-Contrary to popular belief, my hair is naturally curly.
-I inherited the ability to laugh until I cry over something that's really not that funny from my mom's family. (Family get-togethers are interesting!)
-People tell me that I have a thick southern drawl, but I really don't hear it.
-I am taller than both of my sisters.
-My love language is "Physical Touch".
-I love old movies. The older the better!!!!

-I love to talk and make people laugh.
-I started playing the church organ when I was 10.
-I am a hopeless romantic and I am waiting for my Prince Charming to come and sweep me off my feet and onto his magnificent white horse. Until that day, I am content to remain single and stay at home to be a helpmeet to my father.
-I love flowers. Orchids, Lilies, and Roses are my favorites.
-I really don't have a favorite color. It just depends on my mood. Although, I do really like black (with accenting colors of course!).
-I wish it could be Fall year round!
-I am one of those people who says "yes" to everything and then regrets it later.
-I play the piano to relax.
-I daydream CONSTANTLY!!!
-I am decidedly old-fashioned.
